"Remember the gardens". This weekend, Wały Chrobrego - in flowers and flavors

A feast of floral colors and everything green in varieties that will work well both at home and on the balcony, terrace or garden. In addition, there will be handicraft stands and a delicious "Wałówka z desmakami" and accompanying events - from yoga to flamenco. A sea of perennials in fairy-tale colors, a multitude of varieties of the queen of flowers, collectible species of trees and shrubs, exotic plants next to seedlings of popular vegetables, craftsmen's stands and finger-licking delicacies - all this and more at the crown of Wały Chrobrego. This weekend (17-18 May). Thanks to "Pamiętaj o ogrodach" - one of the most famous, valued and liked outdoor exhibition events in Szczecin.

Nearly 100 stands with gardening products will appear in the Wały Chrobrego weekend garden.

– Exhibitors will bring garden wonders grown and cared for by themselves: bulbs, perennials, vegetable seedlings, flower seedlings for balconies, shrubs and trees: ornamental and fruit. They announce well-known, traditional species, as well as exotic, surprising garden novelties. In addition, you can expect a rich offer of aquatic plants, fish for garden ponds and ponds. There will be no shortage of gardening equipment and tools, fertilizers, small architectural elements and decorative elements for the home or garden – announces Dorota Szyjanowska from FM Szczecin, co-organizer of the event. – Gardeners, nurserymen, breeders, importers – already known to the regulars of our fair, but also debuting in Szczecin – will bring the best, most beautiful, specially selected plants, looking for a place in Szczecin gardens, allotments, terraces, balconies, even on the smallest shelves and windowsills. There will certainly be plenty to choose from!

Usually, it is a problem not only for home gardeners to find plants that will do well in the shade. However, there will be a lot of these types of perennials at the garden fair.

- We expect over 50 species and varieties of ferns: ferns, feather ferns, paronychia, adiantum, tongue ferns, nightshades, longipetals, bristle-toothed ferns, but also shiny ferns, armed ferns, and recesses - enumerates Ewa Maj from FM Szczecin, co-organizer of the event. - There will be a dozen or so varieties of lady's slipper ferns, including royal, large-petalled, and Kentucky ferns. We expect trifoliate ferns, including varieties with variegated leaves, as well as those that produce slightly hanging flowers in various colors - from burgundy red through pink, yellow to white, species with variegated leaves. It will be worth paying attention to the trifoliate gillenia, which delights not only with the star-shaped form of delicate flowers, which contrast fantastically with the dark leaves and red stems, but also with their quantity - from June to the end of summer it is literally covered in them. Similarly to the peltobolkinia watanabei, which creates tufts of spectacularly changing leaves, or the large-flowered berry trees and aromatic candlesticks. I assure you that it will be possible to supplement not only the garden collections of hostas with more interesting varieties.

“Pamiętaj o ogrodach” is of course not only a garden fair, but also a delicious “Wałówka z delicakami”. Its stands – traditional ones – will occupy a section of Szczerbcowa Street. This time, you can expect not only a rich selection of regional food, but also honeys, Alpine cheeses, Turkish sweets, local wines, craft beers from mini-breweries.

On Sunday, the organizers have announced accompanying events. On the terrace with the statue of Hercules fighting a centaur, a yoga school with outdoor classes will appear first (at 12 p.m.), followed by a breakdance show by the USB ACADEMY Association (at 1:15 p.m.), and then a flamenco flash mob (at 1:30 p.m.) performed by dancers and students of AIRE Studio Taniec Flamenco Szczecin, under the direction of Donata Szurobura.

The Wały Chrobrego Garden will open on Saturday (17 May) at 9:00 a.m. and will be closed on Sunday (18 May) at 5:00 p.m. However, a change in traffic organization in this area, related to the preparation of the event, will take place on Friday (16 May) – from 5:00 p.m. – Wały Chrobrego Street and Zygmunta Starego and Szczerbcowa Streets, on the sections from Jarowita to Wały Chrobrego, will be closed to cars, except for deliveries and exhibitors. ©℗
